| The Headwaters
RC&D
Area covers eight
counties in northcentral Pennsylvania. The Council has assisted
numerous watershed groups, a forest certification non-profit, Rail
to Trail citizen’s development and management groups, and several
environmental education clubs to become independent organizations.
Currently, they are active in the construction of a motorized rail
to trail, rail to trail feasibility studies, construction of passive
abandoned mine drainage treatment sites, wetland development for
gray water treatment, abandoned oil and gas well plugging, and
agricultural best management practices education and implementation.
