Headwaters RC&D has numerous active projects.  Projects from the water resources and recreation committee range from acid mine drainage treatment to waste water treatment, recreational trails to canoe access to rivers, local watershed group planning and technical assistance to best management practices in agriculture and forestry to protect water quality.

Project

The agriculture committee accepts projects in practices installed by landowners for environmental protection, grazing management, education for profitable agriculture, and dry hydrants for rural fire protection.  The forestry committee is active in promoting forest certification, forest management education and pollution prevention, and wood products development.   The community development committee sponsors several Americorp/Vista volunteers to assist communities in projects to serve the individual needs of these communities.  Active projects with the community development committee also include work with scout groups, community walkways, and tourism development and enhancement.
